24B-3 triplex hub sprockets

24B-3 hub sprockets have three tooth rims and run with triplex 24B-3 chain of 1 1/2" (38.1 mm) pitch to DIN 8187 / ISO 606. They are designed for the heaviest drives - mills, rotary kilns, crushers and large conveyors.

24B-3 sprockets - the load capacity of a larger pitch without welding a hub

Three chain strands transmit a torque for which a simplex drive would need a much larger pitch and larger sprockets. A hub sprocket only needs to be bored out for the shaft - no welding or building your own hub. Larger sprockets are also available in grey cast iron.

24B-3 triplex sprockets: heavy sprockets in C45 steel and cast iron

24B-3 triplex hub sprockets in C45 steel with unhardened teeth, and larger grey cast iron sprockets. Due to the rim width and tall hub the sprockets are heavy - the weight is given on the product page.

Can a plate wheel be used instead of a hub sprocket in a 24B-3 drive?

Yes. 24B triplex plate wheels without a hub can be found in the Plate sprockets group - a good solution when you want to keep an existing hub or flange.
