16B-2 duplex hub sprockets

16B-2 hub sprockets have two tooth rims and work with duplex 16B-2 chain of 1" (25.4 mm) pitch to DIN 8187 / ISO 606. This version is for drives in which a simplex 16B chain is not enough.

16B-2 duplex sprocket - much more power in the existing installation space

Two chain strands transmit much more power without enlarging the sprocket, so the drive fits in the existing installation space. You bore out the pilot bore for your shaft, and larger sprockets can be chosen in grey cast iron. The extended hub guides the wide sprocket well on the shaft.

Does a 16B-2 drive need a special tensioner?

A tensioner with a duplex sprocket of the same size or a sliding mounting of one of the shafts is enough. It is important that the chain is tensioned evenly across its full width.
