08B-3 triplex hub sprockets

08B-3 hub sprockets have three tooth rims and work with triplex 08B-3 chain of 1/2" (12.7 mm) pitch to DIN 8187 / ISO 606. They run in high-torque machines: presses, rolling mills, mixers and main conveyor drives.

Three strands of 08B chain give strength close to that of a larger-pitch chain, but with smoother and quieter running. You bore out the pilot bore for your shaft, and larger sprockets are also available in grey cast iron, which dampens vibration.

Yes. The load is spread evenly over three strands only when the sprockets lie in one plane and the shafts are parallel - otherwise the outer strand wears faster.
