08B-1 simplex hub sprockets

08B-1 hub sprockets are simplex sprockets for 08B-1 chain of 1/2" (12.7 mm) pitch to DIN 8187 / ISO 606. They are the most frequently chosen sprockets in machine drives, conveyors and agricultural machinery.

A wide choice of tooth counts lets you select the transmission ratio without compromise - from small driving sprockets to large driven sprockets. You bore out the pilot bore for your shaft, so the sprocket also fits non-standard diameters. C45 steel is a proven material for drives with moderate and medium loads; larger sprockets are also available in grey cast iron.

How many teeth should the driving sprocket have?

At medium and high speeds at least 17 teeth are recommended - the chain then runs more smoothly and elongates more slowly. Smaller sprockets work well in low-speed drives and where space is limited.
