08B hub sprockets work with 08B chain of 1/2" (12.7 mm) pitch to DIN 8187 / ISO 606 - one of the most widely used chains in agricultural machinery, conveyors and general drives.
08B hub sprockets - flexible mounting on a shaft of any diameter
A hub with a pilot bore gives you the greatest mounting flexibility: you bore the hole out exactly to your shaft diameter with the required fit, and then cut a keyway to DIN 6885. One sprocket therefore fits shafts of different diameters. We make the sprockets from C45 steel, which copes well with loads and is easy to machine; larger sprockets are also available in vibration-damping grey cast iron.
1/2 inch hub sprockets: simplex, duplex and triplex
Simplex (08B-1), duplex (08B-2) and triplex (08B-3) sprockets - each version has its own subgroup. Multi-strand sprockets transmit more power at the same pitch and sprocket diameter.
Frequently asked questions about sprockets for 08B chain
I don't want to bore out the hole - what should I choose?
Sprockets with a finished bore and keyway can be found in the Finished bore sprockets group, and sprockets for a taper bush - in the Taper-Lock sprockets group.
Does an 08B sprocket fit ASA 40 (08A) chain?
No. Both have a 12.7 mm pitch, but they differ in roller diameter and inner width. For American chain, choose a sprocket from the ASA sprockets group.
