28B-1 simplex plate sprockets

28B-1 plate sprockets are simplex plate wheels for 28B-1 chain of 1 3/4" (44.45 mm) pitch to DIN 8187 / ISO 606. The large pitch allows very high forces to be transmitted by a single chain strand, which simplifies the design of a heavy drive.

A single tooth rim is the lightest and cheapest plate wheel in this pitch. You fix it as the machine requires - on your own hub, flange or drum - and when it wears you replace only the rim. For the driving sprocket, which makes the most revolutions and wears fastest, you can choose a plate wheel with hardened teeth.

Will a 28B-1 plate wheel work with 28B-2 chain?

No. A duplex chain needs a sprocket with two tooth rims - you will find them in the Duplex (double-row) subgroup.
