24B-1 simplex plate sprockets

24B-1 plate sprockets are simplex plate wheels for 24B-1 chain of 1 1/2" (38.1 mm) pitch to DIN 8187 / ISO 606, for welding or bolting on in heavy, slow-running drives.

24B-1 simplex plate wheels - the simplest way to a large sprocket

A flat plate wheel is the simplest way to build a large sprocket: it is easier to transport than a ready-made hub sprocket, and you can adapt the mounting on your own hub or flange to the machine. For a driving sprocket choose the version with induction-hardened teeth - it will keep its tooth profile longer.

How do I replace a worn plate wheel without dismantling the shaft?

If the plate wheel is bolted to a flange, simply undo the bolts and fit a new one. With a welded plate wheel you usually have to remove the whole sprocket with the hub, so in heavy drives a bolted connection is worth choosing.
