24B (1 1/2") plate sprockets

24B plate sprockets are flat plate wheels for 24B roller chain of 1 1/2" (38.1 mm) pitch to DIN 8187 / ISO 606. Plate wheels of this size are used in slow-running drives of large conveyors and heavy industrial machinery.

24B (1 1/2 inch) plate wheels - easier to transport than a hub sprocket

A hub sprocket of this size would be very heavy and expensive to transport - a plate wheel is easier to ship and can be mounted on your own hub or flange. A bolted-on rim can be replaced without dismantling the hub, and simplex plate wheels with induction-hardened teeth keep their tooth profile longer under high forces.

24B simplex, duplex and triplex plate sprockets in C45 steel

Simplex plate wheels can be found in the Simplex (single-row) subgroup, and duplex and triplex plate wheels also directly in this group. We make them all from C45 steel, and selected simplex plate wheels have hardened teeth.

Preheating 24B plate wheels before welding - frequently asked questions

Do 24B plate wheels need preheating before welding?

Yes. With thick and large plate wheels, preheating is necessary to limit stresses and the risk of cracking.

Does a 24B plate wheel fit ASA 120 chain?

No. ASA 120 (24A) chain has different internal dimensions. Sprockets for it can be found in the ASA sprockets group.
