20B-1 simplex plate sprockets

20B-1 plate sprockets are simplex plate wheels for 20B-1 chain of 1 1/4" (31.75 mm) pitch to DIN 8187 / ISO 606, for welding or bolting on.

20B-1 simplex plate wheels for heavy drives

A wide choice of tooth counts lets you select the ratio for a heavy drive, and a flat plate makes transport and mounting on your own hub easier. Under high forces it is worth avoiding sprockets with a very small number of teeth and choosing a plate wheel with induction-hardened teeth, which keeps its tooth profile longer.

Why do small sprockets wear the chain faster?

On a sprocket with a small number of teeth, the chain links articulate more sharply and the motion becomes less even. Joint wear and noise increase, so in heavy drives it is better to choose a sprocket with more teeth.
