05B plate sprockets are flat plate wheels for 05B roller chain of 8 mm pitch to DIN 8187 / ISO 606. This chain works in light drives of packaging machines, printing machines and automation equipment, where low weight and compact design count.

You bore the plate to suit your own shaft or hub, so one version fits many designs. You can weld it or bolt it on - the latter lets you replace a worn rim without dismantling the hub. The duplex version increases drive load capacity without changing the pitch or sprocket diameter.

In the light drives for which 05B chain is intended, usually not. A C45 steel plate wheel copes well with typical loads and is easy to machine.
One duplex plate wheel or two simplex ones?
For a duplex chain always a duplex plate wheel - its tooth rims are spaced exactly like the chain strands. Two simplex plate wheels will not provide this spacing.
