12B-3 triplex Taper-Lock sprockets

12B-3 Taper-Lock sprockets are triplex sprockets for 12B-3 chain of 3/4" (19.05 mm) pitch to DIN 8187 / ISO 606, designed for heavy drives with high load capacity.

12B-3 triplex sprockets on a taper bush - easy fitting and removal

A triplex sprocket is heavy and wide, so mounting on a taper bush makes things much easier: no machining of the bore, accurate centring and easy removal. Steel driving sprockets with hardened teeth cope well with high loads, and large grey cast iron driven sprockets provide rigidity at a lower cost.

Can a 12B-3 cast iron sprocket be welded - questions and answers

Can a cast iron sprocket be welded?

We do not recommend it - grey cast iron is very difficult to weld. Cast iron sprockets are fixed to the shaft only with a Taper-Lock bush.
