10B-1 simplex Taper-Lock sprockets

10B-1 Taper-Lock sprockets are simplex sprockets for 10B-1 chain of 5/8" (15.875 mm) pitch to DIN 8187 / ISO 606, mounted on the shaft with a tapered taper bush.

10B-1 simplex Taper-Lock sprockets - for driving and driven sprockets

You choose a sprocket matched to its role in the drive: the driving sprocket preferably with induction-hardened teeth, which wear more slowly, and a large driven sprocket - in steel or cast iron. Mounting on a bush needs no machining, so replacing the sprocket is quick and does not damage the shaft.

How many teeth should the driving sprocket have?

At medium and high speeds at least 17 teeth are recommended - the chain then runs more smoothly and stretches more slowly. Smaller sprockets are suitable for low-speed drives.
