08B-1 simplex Taper-Lock sprockets

08B-1 Taper-Lock sprockets are simplex sprockets for 08B-1 chain of 1/2" (12.7 mm) pitch to DIN 8187 / ISO 606. You fit them to the shaft with a taper bush, without machining the bore in the sprocket.

If the drive works in dust or often starts under load, choose a sprocket with induction-hardened teeth - it will keep its tooth profile longer. How do I check that the sprocket is seated correctly?

After tightening the bush, turn the shaft and watch the tooth rim against a fixed point. Runout or wobble means the bush has not seated evenly - loosen it and retighten the screws again, alternately.
