08B (1/2") Taper-Lock sprockets

08B Taper-Lock sprockets work with 08B chain of 1/2" (12.7 mm) pitch to DIN 8187 / ISO 606 - one of the most widely used chains in agricultural machinery, conveyors and general drives. They are mounted on the shaft using a tapered taper bush.

A sprocket with a Taper-Lock seat can be fitted straight away, without machining or fitting - especially convenient for repairs in the field and frequent ratio changes. One sprocket fits different shaft diameters, because you only change the bush. You can choose sprockets in C45 steel, with hardened teeth for tougher conditions, and large cast iron sprockets.

How do I choose the bush size for the shaft?

The seat size is given in the sprocket name. You select a bush of that size with a bore equal to the shaft diameter - each bush size has its own range of possible bores.

Does an 08B sprocket fit ASA 40 chain?

No. Both chains have a 12.7 mm pitch, but differ in roller and inner width. For American chain choose a sprocket from the ASA sprockets group.
