Taper-Lock sprockets

Taper-Lock sprockets have a tapered seat for a taper bush instead of a plain bore. The bush, bored to suit your shaft, fits into the seat, and when the screws are tightened the taper clamps it onto the shaft. It is the solution for anyone who wants to fit a sprocket quickly, without a workshop and without the risk of damaging the shaft. Taper-Lock sprockets - fitting with no boring and no keyway cutting

There is no need to bore the hole or cut a keyway - the sprocket is accurately centred and securely seated as soon as the bush is tightened. Removal is just as simple: the sprocket comes off the shaft without a puller, even after long service. One sprocket can be fitted to shafts of different diameters by simply changing the bush, and a worn sprocket can be replaced without dismantling the drive. Taper-Lock is a standardised system, so bushes from different manufacturers are interchangeable.

Simplex, duplex and triplex sprockets, arranged in subgroups by chain size. The basic material is C45 steel, and many sprockets are also available with induction-hardened teeth, which cope better with high speeds, frequent starts and dust. Large sprockets are also offered in grey cast iron, which dampens vibration well.

Is the Taper-Lock bush supplied with the sprocket?

No. The seat size is given in the sprocket name, e.g. Taper-Lock 2012, and the bush with a bore and keyway for a specific shaft is selected separately in the Bushes category, in the Taper-Lock group.

How do I remove a Taper-Lock sprocket?

Remove the screws and screw one of them into the jacking hole of the bush. The taper releases and the sprocket comes off the shaft without a puller and without damaging the shaft.
