PL Poly-V pulleys

PL Poly-V pulleys work with PL ribbed belts with a groove pitch of 4.7 mm. This profile is for drives with higher power than PJ - in compressors, pumps, industrial fans, crushers and agricultural machinery.

PL Poly-V pulleys - one belt instead of a set of V-belts

The larger ribs transmit much more power at the same belt width, and a single PL belt replaces several V-belts and does not need to be matched into sets. All pulleys in this group are mounted on a Taper-Lock bush: you fit and remove the pulley without machining, and when changing to a shaft of a different diameter, just replace the bush.

Does a PL pulley fit a PJ belt?

No. The PL groove pitch is twice that of the PJ profile, so the profiles are not interchangeable.

Why do pulleys of the same diameter have different bushes?

Pulleys with more grooves are wider and transmit more torque, which is why they often have a larger taper bush.
