Poly-V pulleys are pulleys with many fine grooves around the circumference, designed for ribbed belts, also known as Poly-V or micro-V belts. They let you build a compact, quiet drive with a large ratio where a set of several V-belts would take up too much space.

Ozdowski Poly-V pulleys - a smaller and lighter drive

A ribbed belt is thin and flexible, so it runs on small-diameter pulleys and at high speeds - the drive can be smaller and lighter. One wide belt replaces several V-belts, and the load is spread over all the ribs at once, with no risk of one belt being looser than the others. The pulleys are made to DIN 7867 / ISO 9982, so they work with belts from any manufacturer in a given profile. Most pulleys are mounted on a Taper-Lock bush, which means quick mounting and removal without machining the pulley and without damaging the shaft.

Poly-V pulleys in the PJ and PL profiles - separate subgroups

Pulleys in the PJ profile (groove pitch 2.34 mm) for smaller, high-speed drives and in the PL profile (pitch 4.7 mm) for higher-power drives - each profile has its own subgroup. We offer the pulleys in various diameters and with various numbers of grooves. How to choose a Poly-V pulley: profile, number of grooves and diameter

Read the profile and the number of ribs from the back of the belt. The number of pulley grooves should be equal to or greater than the number of ribs - the pulley may be wider than the belt, but never narrower. You choose the pulley diameter to suit the required ratio, and the mounting method to suit the shaft: you choose a Taper-Lock bush with a bore matching the shaft diameter, while a pilot bore pulley is machined yourself.

How do I read the designation PJ 80/12?

The letters indicate the profile, the first number is the pulley diameter in millimetres, and the second - the number of grooves.

Does a PJ pulley fit a PK belt from a car?

No. The PK profile has a pitch of 3.56 mm, and PJ - 2.34 mm, so the pulley grooves will not match the belt ribs.
