Linear shafts

Linear shafts are precision-ground, hardened rods along which linear bearings and bushings slide. They form the guide axes in sliding tables, handling systems, packaging machines, plotters and automation equipment - the smoothness and accuracy of motion depend on their quality.

Linear shafts hardened to 60-64 HRC with h6 tolerance

The surface, induction-hardened to 60-64 HRC, does not dent under the bearing balls, and the tough core carries loads without cracking. The h6 tolerance ensures that the linear bearing runs without play and without sticking. We cut shafts sold by the metre to the length in your order, so you do not pay for unnecessary material or cut the hardened rod yourself.

Cf53, X46Cr13 stainless, chrome-plated and supported linear shafts

Standard shafts made of Cf53 steel - the basic choice for machines working in a dry environment. Stainless steel shafts made of X46Cr13 steel - for damp conditions, the food industry and contact with cleaning agents. Chrome-plated shafts with a hard chrome coating, in h7 tolerance, with increased resistance to abrasion and corrosion. Supported shafts, mounted on a support rail that stiffens long axes. Ready lengths can be found in the Linear shaft lengths subgroup.

How to choose a linear shaft for the linear bearing and operating conditions

The shaft diameter is determined by the bore of the linear bearing. Choose the material according to the operating conditions: Cf53 for typical machines, stainless or chrome-plated in damp conditions and where there is a risk of corrosion. For long, loaded axes, consider a supported shaft that does not deflect.

What does h6 tolerance mean?

It is an ISO diameter tolerance class: the dimension is equal to the nominal or slightly smaller, so the linear bearing runs smoothly and without play.
