Cast iron jaw coupling hubs are the most widely represented version of pilot bore hubs. They are the standard in drives of pumps, fans, compressors and gearboxes.

Cast iron jaw coupling hubs - vibration damping and wear resistance

Then you cut a keyway and a threaded hole for a set screw, which secures the hub against axial displacement.
