HRC couplings

HRC couplings are flexible shaft couplings made up of two hubs with jaws and an insert placed between them. The insert transmits torque, damps vibrations and shocks and compensates for slight shaft misalignment. HRC couplings are popular in drives of pumps, fans, conveyors and mixers.

You assemble the coupling from two hubs and one insert of the same size, and you can combine the hubs freely: both pilot bore, both Taper-Lock or one of each type. When worn, you replace only the insert - the hubs stay on the shafts, and the repair is quick and inexpensive.

Hubs with a pilot bore in the Pilot bore subgroup, hubs with a taper bush seat in the Taper-Lock subgroup and elastic elements in the Inserts subgroup. A larger HRC size transmits higher torque and allows a larger bore to be made in the hub.

Do HRC hubs fit a jaw coupling?

No. HRC and jaw couplings have a different jaw and insert geometry, so their parts are not interchangeable.

What wears out in an HRC coupling?

Primarily the insert. Replacing it restores the coupling's performance, and the hubs remain on the shafts.
