Stainless and acid-resistant chains
Stainless steel chains are made of corrosion-resistant steel. They perform well wherever an ordinary chain would quickly become covered in rust: in the food industry, washdown areas, cold stores, wastewater treatment plants and equipment operating outdoors.
Stainless and acid-resistant chains - no coatings, easy to clean
A stainless chain does not need protective coatings, which flake off over time and can end up in the product. It is easy to wash, stays in good working order longer in a wet environment and needs replacing less often, which lowers line maintenance costs. Acid-resistant versions made of 316L steel cope better with salt, acids and aggressive cleaning agents. The dimensions are the same as for standard chains with the same designation, so replacement requires no modifications.
Stainless B-type and A-type roller chains and conveyor chains
Stainless B-type roller chains, simplex and multiplex, and an A-series chain. For building conveyors there are stainless hollow pin chains, double pitch chains, extended pin chains and attachment chains. Matching stainless links can be found in the Connecting links and Offset links groups.
Strength of a stainless chain - customer questions
Is a stainless chain as strong as a steel one?
No. Stainless steel has a lower strength than hardened carbon steel, so a stainless chain carries lower loads. If corrosion is not an issue, a standard chain will perform better in a heavily loaded drive.
