Chains transmit drive between sprockets or move loads on a conveyor. They do not slip on the sprocket, so they provide a constant ratio and transmit high forces even at low speeds, in dusty conditions and at elevated temperatures. In one place you can buy the chain, the link to close it and the sprocket it will run on.
Ozdowski chains made of C45 steel - components hardened separately before assembly
We make roller chains from C45 steel, and the pin, bush, roller and plate are hardened separately before assembly. As a result, the chain strength is about 20% higher than the standard requires, and the chain stretches more slowly and needs replacing less often. Standard-compliant dimensions guarantee interchangeability - our chain will replace another manufacturer's chain with the same designation. Popular sizes are available in ready-cut lengths, without ordering a whole reel, and connecting and offset links let you quickly shorten and close the chain on site.
Roller, conveyor and special chains - category overview
The core of our range is B-type and A-type roller chains, also in heavy-duty and stainless versions. For building conveyors there are attachment chains, extended pin and hollow pin chains, straight side plate chains, chains with rubber or metal top plates, accumulation chains and double pitch chains. Conveyor, bush and scraper chains are designed for heavy conveyors. The range is completed by leaf chains for forklift trucks, quiet silent chains, PIV chains for variators, technical link chains and cutting chains.
Drive chain: European B series or American A series
The B series (DIN 8187 / ISO 606) is the European standard, designated e.g. 08B-1. The A series (ANSI B29.1) is the American standard, designated with an ISO symbol, e.g. 08A-1, or an ASA number, e.g. 40-1. At the same pitch, chains of the two series differ in roller diameter and inner width, so they are not interchangeable.
How do I identify the chain in my machine? Frequently asked questions about chains
How do I identify the chain I have in my machine?
First look for the designation stamped on the plates. If it is illegible, measure the pitch, i.e. the distance between the axes of adjacent pins, as well as the inner width between the plates and the roller diameter. These three dimensions clearly indicate the size and series of the chain.
What do I use to close a chain?
With an even number of links, a connecting link is enough, and with an odd number an offset link is needed. Both must have the same designation as the chain, including the number of strands.
Are chains available from stock?
Stock availability is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
