How to choose a clamping plate for the timing belt profile and width

The plate is selected according to the belt profile and width - a 25 AT10 belt requires a 25 AT10 plate. The profile must be identical, because even with the same pitch, T and AT or T and HTD teeth have a different shape.

Is the plate suitable for an endless belt?

Does joining with a plate weaken the belt?

The joint is stiffer than the rest of the belt, so in looped drives the plate should not pass over small pulleys. In linear axes, where the belt ends are fixed to the carriage, this does not matter.
